Connect your Epson printer

This guide connects an Epson receipt printer to your Windsor Digital ordering page so orders print automatically the moment customers pay. It takes about 10 minutes. Works with the TM-m30, TM-m50 and TM-T88VI or newer.

1. Before you start

  1. Plug the printer into your router with an Ethernet cable and switch it on.
  2. Have a phone or laptop connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
  3. In your Windsor dashboard, go to Settings, open Printers and click Connect a printer. The guide in the dashboard shows your unique setup address at the paste step. Keep that tab open.

2. Find your printer IP address

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Hold down the FEED button.
  3. Still holding FEED, turn the printer back on.
  4. Keep holding FEED until the printer starts printing, then let go.
  5. On the printed sheet, find IPv4 Address. It looks like 192.168.1.105. That is your printer IP.
  6. Keep the sheet. The serial number on it can be your login password later.

3. Open the printer settings page

  1. On your phone or laptop, type the IP address into the address bar in Chrome or Safari.
  2. A security warning here is normal. In Chrome click Advanced then Proceed. In Safari click Show Details then visit this website.
  3. The Epson settings page opens.

4. Log in

  1. Username is epson and the password is epson.
  2. If that does not work, the password is the serial number printed on the self test sheet and on the sticker on the printer.
  3. If it asks you to create a new password, set one and write it down somewhere safe.

5. Point the printer at Windsor

  1. In the left panel choose TM-Intelligent, then EpsonNet Config for TM-i.
  2. Click Server Direct Print in the left panel.
  3. Set Server Direct Print to Enable.
  4. Paste your setup address from the Windsor dashboard into the Server1 URL field.
  5. Leave Interval at 5.
  6. Click Apply and Restart in the top right.

6. Check it worked

  1. Go back to your Windsor dashboard tab.
  2. Within a minute the guide shows Connected and offers a test print.
  3. Send the test print. If a docket comes out, you are done. Orders now print automatically.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing after two minutes? Check you clicked Apply and Restart.
  • Check the pasted address for spaces or missing characters.
  • Guest Wi-Fi counts as a separate network. Your phone and the printer need to be on the same one.
  • Turn the printer off and on again, then wait a minute.

Already use the Epson TM Utility app? You can paste the same setup address into its Server Direct Print settings instead.

Stuck? We will set it up with you.
